Thanks for Nothing LIRR

Am I the only one who thinks the LIRR must hate Port Washington? First, years ago, they overshadow our cute station with a monstrous, space age, UGLY roof. Then, recently, they install industrial grade green fencing fit for a prison. What the heck do they have against us? Why are they trying to despoil our Main Street area? (If they provided decent train service, and covering over the platforms that actually kept the rain out, maybe it wouldn't seem so bad. Nah. It's seriously ugly any way you look at it.)

The fence is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I totally agree with you. It would appear that the LIRR Port Washington Station is a prison site.

The fence is ugly. But I like it better than my old station, Little Neck. There was no coverage there, except for a urine soaked bus stop style cover. When it rained, everyone would crowd in there and huddle. Also no station house. So this is a vast improvement IMO.

Just a little administrative note here. An anonymous user, unfortunately, used an expletive in a comment so I have removed it (even though they "disguised" the four letter word with asterisks). Their point, and I paraphrase here, that the MTA is in debt and that the Port taxpayers should pick up the cost for a replacement fence if they desire, seems perfectly valid.
